Renaissance Technical Institute, Inc. will offer the two courses to our students at no cost.

This course can be taught in several weeks or in a month. A general introductory course is conducted which upon successful completion, the guard is issued a training certificate that will allow him to work as a security in stores, companies, schools, restaurants, and any business where security is required.

The first required course is an Eight Hour Pre-assignment training course. This is a general introductory course. Upon successful completion of this course the guard is issued a training certificate. This certificate must accompany the security guard’s registration application when submitted to the Department of State. 

This certificate must accompany the security guard’s registration application when submitted to the Department of State. Once the application is submitted, the guard has 90 days to complete the second training, which will be a 16-hours On-the-Job-Training (OJT)

OJT’s training program should be relevant to the guard’s duties, requirements of the work site, and the needs of the employer.
